3.0 miss

All right boys and girls! I'm working on my daughters ranger '01 3.0 2WD #1 cyl. is not firing, scan is ambiguous i,ve changed wires and plugsand injector.Has compression i,m stumped any help would be great. The only thing left is the coil pack, but how often do they go bad? the truck has low miles 70,000

Check the plug, wire, injector connection. Does the plug spark if your remove it and crank it?

coil packs are like every thing else they can wear out for example my cats went out 5thousand miles ago and i have 50thousand miles and i had to fight with ford for them to replace them but thats a dfferent story but my point is it could be shot you jus never kno like now me and a buddy of mine are rebulding his 5.0 HO and the water pump is about 5 to 8 years old and still going strong so you might want to check the coil to see if its bad
