I have a identical ZF S5-42 Small bell housing in pic, but its a 2wd tranny and I'm wanting to make sure I find the right tail housing and shaft that will mate up to a transfer case.... basically I guess I need to know which transfer case's will bolt up to the ZF trans...

updated info

I've found some info but still limited to actual knowledge of fitment

I know if I had a NP205 they are unmarried and can be mounted anywhere, but the NP208 I think is common manual lever and the BW transfer cases are electric shift but not sure

I found my answer, all the same :headbang:
6 bolt 31 spline. so I think I may use a np271 electric shift.. and I just need to scrounge a output shaft and a tail housing for my tranny
