hey guys im doing a 4x4 conversion sas and i was just wondering... would i need to get an entire new transmission... or just a 4x4 transfercase???

You could run a divorced transfer case, but that would require a lot of modifications. Like metal said, you would be far better off just getting a 4x4 transmission.

the output shaft on the 2wd tranny wont fit the transfercase. you need a new tranny.

so just to reassure myself... is it any 4x4 transmission or a certain year?

assuming you have a 2wd ranger..

yea... it even says on my public profile

if its a manual you will want a 4x4 tranny that was behind the same engine as yours (2.3L, 3.0L, or 4.0L) as the bellhousing is different for each engine.
