My credo
My world is filled with stuff that needs to be fixed
Not sure where to put this, but since it's 2WD related I stuck it here.... Gotta do wheel bearings on the left front. How to a I remove the old races from the rotor - can I drive them out with a drift? I have a press to put the new ones in.

I would think that's all it needs. I've never done it before. I tried once but the race was so torn up I couldn't get anything to bite on it.

Ok thanks. I’ll see what it looks like when I get it off. I plan on doing new rotors before too long, but I just got the thing and I want to work through some of this piddly stuff quickly without spending a lot.

I've done a bunch of those... drift and a hammer should knock them right out. I also just used a hammer and a bushing driver of the correct size to knock them back in. They typically bottom out on a shoulder in the rotor.

Thanks guys, it was a simple and straightforward job. Bearings are good now and it has new braking linings all around.

Part of the problem is the truck was new to me and it had new Wranglers on it (not a tire I have ever driven), so I was not really sure if what I was hearing was tire or bearing.

Usually a tire noise will cut out at a certain speed when decelerating, while a bearing noise will continue until you are stopped.
