2wd ranger irs swap

i did some research and got a lot of different answers. what would be the best candidate for the IRS swap? some say t-bird/cougar/mark viii and others say late model explorer??? i am looking at building a street truck based on a 98-up with coil over front and IRS rear powered with a 97 mountaineer 302 and auto transmission.

The explorer would be the best but a ranger with a explorer 8.8in with a rear sway bar would work great i dont see why you would want to do a IRS on a ranger
