I am trying to lift my 1988 supercab 2wd ranger approx 1.5 inches. I am retaining the stock axle pivot brackets and radius arm brackets. I have air bags in the coils so I wanted to retain the stock coils which are not sagged.
I am using Superlift steel coil spacers. They are 1/4 inch thick each so I planned to use 4 which would give me a 1 inch thick spacer. Knowing that a 1" spacer will yield a lift of approx 1.5 inches this should be perfect. When I did this I actually got a lift of close to 3 inches. I took two spacer out leaving 2 at 1/2 inch and my lift is now right on 1.5 inches. Why?
