Hello Everyone,

Hope all is well!

Wanted some advice on preventative measures and overall advice.

Looking at getting 2025 XLT equipment group 301A, spray in bed liner and fx4 package. Have one queued up at the dealer but wanted some advice.

Is there anything I should look out for? I drive approx 60,000KM /37,000 Miles a year for work.

Any preventative measures or things to change or add after market would be appreciated. tonneau cover recommendation also would be appreciated

Thank you

My only suggestion would be to move closer to work.

Hopefully they help with vehicle expenses.

If i could get by without 4wd and payload of a midsize...I'd be looking for fuel economy. Maybe a Maverick.

You probably go through a set of tires every 18 months.

Now... someone will give you some useful information... opposed to me stating the obvious.

Assuming 5 days a week and 2 weeks off a year. That's 148 miles per day or 74 miles from work. Not that unusual for somebody that lives in a very rural area.

I mean with the exception of Lafayette (6 miles and 3 major employers) the next closest work to me is 40 miles away.

Rustproofing will be a must given your location. Fluid Film, Woolwax, or a local service. :)

All the maintenance intervals for fluid changes are geared to make the maintenance costs appear to be less and as long as the truck lasts past the warranty period, Ford is good with it.

Change the engine oil and filter every 5,000 miles if you do a lot of towing, hauling, or stop and go traffic driving, 7,500 miles if you just commute. The biggest reason not to do the 10,000 mile oil changes is that garages are finding a lot of sludge in the ecoboost engines with people who change the oil only when the oil minder tells them too. Often times, the engines have failed by then as well.

If you get a 4X4, change the front differential fluid every 60,000 miles and transfer case fluid every 30,000 miles.

30,000 miles for the transmission fluid and filter and rear differential. The 10R80 has a bad reliability reputation. So, you will want to do what you can to prevent issues. People are getting PPE transmission pans for easier fluid draining and a Mike's Build Shop dip stick tube so that refilling and meaauring fluid levels are much easier. The factory one is on the passenger side, right by the flex pipe under a protective cap. Not real user friendly to get to and part of the fluid check is when the transmission is hot (as will be the exhaust). Not a great setup.

You can go with the coolant recommendation in the manual but change it every three years after that.

Brake fluid should be flushed every three years, regardless.

The 2024-2025 Rangers dont have the 10R80 transmission.....but good advice to change the fluid every 30k. (I think Ford recommends 60K?)

The 10r60 has the filler in the driver side back of the trans. I looked at it when i did my oil change Saturday
