2.3L ('02-'11) The year is 2025. Anyone know where to get a fresh 2001-2003 2.3L intake manifold?

Yes! It works!

Later intakes have five ports at the back of the manifold instead of three. You cap two of them off.

Otherwise, zip tie the IMRC actuator up somewhere.

The shop that helped me with it also had to tee the little vacuum line off the fuel rail in somewhere too but I dunno what that is even.

Overall works great. Runs a little wimpy at low RPMs when you first start it up. Once it's warm it runs the same. Same gas mileage, if not a little better. Much quieter. Totally do-able. I'll take some photos or a video or something when I have time.

If you find the time.. making an article for the tech section about the process with some decent pictures & a description could help out a load of people in the future

I fully intend on doing that.

Still had to source one from a wrecking yard. Still was hard to get. I believe the PN is 4L5Z-9424-AA but Ford discontinued them just like everything else for the good Rangers because they suck. But there are 8 years of manufacturing behind those, vs. 3 years of mfg for the IMRC ones. And zero moving parts.
I actually have an extra one sitting around I'll sell, but after I get photos and documentation for the write up above.

thanks. just curious when you did your swap did you have to swap the throttle body too or could you use your old one?

I had a shop do the work, I didn't do it myself. But they swapped the throttle body over.

Later rangers are drive-by-wire instead of using a throttle cable, I don't know if that matters but your old throttle body should work.

A Canadian Ford dealer has the 4L5Z9424A manifold new, but the part costs nearly US$500 including freight to the US. Here's the listing:

Count the intake passages on your link.
We need 4L5Z-9424-*AA* for a 2.3L ranger.
The "A" model is for 6 cylinder engines.
