2011 Super Duty

I agree 100%. I find it silly that people are complaining about these trucks being wussy or whatever, yet they are easily the best they have ever been, and surely you can get a pretty basic one.

Yeah, the F-Series wouldn't be #1 if it wasn't for fleet sales... which eat up base trucks.

Dad's '04 is pretty basic XL, 2wd, dark grey grille, white body, sealed beam headlights, rubber floor, manual windows and locks... just a work truck. He is estatic he has a service truck with just A/C, cruise, and a nice cassette radio.

So a lot of you guys would prefer to lug the engine with a clutch rather than let a torque converter stall at an appropriate rpm (all while multiplying that torque) during take off? Or is it the satisfaction of disconnecting the driveline to engage the next gear rather than letting an auto shift instantaneously? If I had to pick between a 4 speed auto and a 6 speed manual, the manual would be my pick. But come on, a 6 speed auto (mind you, this thing is BUILT... so durability shouldn't be an issue) would blow the doors off of a 6 speed manual. Remember, you have a torque converter that not only multiplies torque during take off, but it also locks up, so you could essentially split some of those gears.

I haven't formed an opinion about the styling yet. But I think FORD has done their research on the new drivetrain.

an auto trans is so much easier for towing , and we plow with our 08 SD , and the auto is great for that too , i love my manual trans Ranger , but i rarely ever tow with it , and would never use it as a work truck.

and i heard word through the grapevine , that the 6.7 isn't going to be a V8 , word is that Ford is ending their contract with navistar , and making use of their majority stake in cummins , and the new SD is going to have a 6.7 Cummins TD

My favorite superduty are the ones with the headlight style of the Red one here, but with an extended cab and in a dark green color. Modestly lifted.

I think I'll go buy a Chevy if I want something post 2010.

Im with you 100 percent on that except mine would be white. I prefer white trucks. dont want the supershine green lol.

Grapevines don't transfer data and info as clear as other sources such as the ford website. lol, check it out. You'll see a bunch of AWESOME videos displaying their new 6.7L diesel. Its a V8, and its built in house by ford. No more contracting out to other manufacturers.

So we're bouncing on the back and his F250 is going up and down and all over the place and my truck goes down a couple inches and stops cold--we can't get it rocking at all--we're like 450# between us and the couch is probably another 200#. And his rides like total ass, knocking your teeth together, while mine glides like the Millennium Falcon. It probably costs a few bucks more to install a well thought out variable-rate spring pack instead of trying to pick a single-rate pack that tries to ride okay, carry a load okay but fails miserably at both. The 2002 F350 dually I drove for a week did not have the ride quality problem.

My 94 2500 Silverado rides like the Earth Ship SS General Hammond

These new trucks can work. No question but that they are better trucks. Heavier, stiffer frames. They come with higher GVWR and load capacities. Bigger brakes, more power, better transmissions, bigger rear axles. Most come pretty well equipped with stuff I don't need. I think you can still get a pretty basic one though.

As long as it comes with A/C, cruise control, power locks, and power mirrors.

I need the 6 seats to fit all my kids so I've no choice there. I need the 8' bed because I carry my Bobcat in the back. I prefer the auto, so I don't really mind the standard-shift is gone. I think for most things the auto is better. I know clearing snow with a standard sucks, for instance. I guess there is something tough and manly about shifting, but I don't quite feel it. I like to hold my coffee and just let the truck do the shifting for me.

I agree with you 100% I need the extra room for the kids and the dog and after logging 1.6 million commercial miles I don't need to prove anything to anybody...... anything bigger than 7200# gross weight should have an autoshift anyways... one less thing to concentrate on.

you should not believe rumors, its a V8.... read the article

why would you want to buy anything from Government Motors (09 and newer GMs)? if anything it made the price higher

I don't like the interior, looks like it was designed by collaboration between Legos and Tonka.

I don't like the exterior..... again reminds me of Tonka.

Why can't Ford do a 73-79 Retro body with the modern powertrain and electronics?
