I don't know why you think it has a car-like ride. The only problems I see are the front design and no manual.

mine glides like the Millennium Falcon.
I agree. My buddy had an '88 F250 and it had like 3 fat leaf springs. My truck, same GVWR, has 8 or 9 thinner ones. We were moving this couch from my truck to his and we noticed his F250 sinks pretty far when we go from mine to his. So we're bouncing on the back and his F250 is going up and down and all over the place and my truck goes down a couple inches and stops cold--we can't get it rocking at all--we're like 450# between us and the couch is probably another 200#. And his rides like total ass, knocking your teeth together, while mine glides like the Millennium Falcon. It probably costs a few bucks more to install a well thought out variable-rate spring pack instead of trying to pick a single-rate pack that tries to ride okay, carry a load okay but fails miserably at both. The 2002 F350 dually I drove for a week did not have the ride quality problem.
That might not be the best reference to compare your truck to. The Falcon suffered numerous Hyperdrive failures, and was referred to by Princess Leia as a "bucket of bolts". Whether it was Han and Chewie who neglected routine maintenance, or Lando while he was in possession if it, we may never know, but it's mechanical function and reliability were notoriously suspect.
Is your Hyperdrive in working order?
Um, PTO is nothing new. My 78 F350 with a T18 4sp has a output for PTO.
I agree with always busted. I wanna see a return to steel dashes, bench seats, manual trannys and rubber floors.

Live Drive PTO
Power takeoff isn’t new to heavy-duty pickups, particularly chassis cabs like the Dodge Ram 3500 and its Aisin six-speed transmission. PTO enables running auxiliary equipment directly off the truck’s engine via either a splined driveshaft or the transmission.
Ford’s new Live Drive PTO taps the Super Duty's crankshaft through the 6R140, so you can power hardware like a snowplow, cement mixer or a generator on the go in stop/start conditions. Until now, if you were using PTO to power a peripheral while moving and came to a complete stop, PTO would shutoff when the transmission's torque converter disconnected at idle. LiveDrive provides power at all times because power comes directly off the motor, regardless of whether or not the torque converter is locked up.
Parasitic power will be limited while the truck is on the go. The Live Drive PTO will be rated at 150 lbs.-ft. of torque while the truck is moving and 250 lbs.-ft. of torque when it’s parked.

superduties to space ships? This forum is out control.
Doesnt the front end look alot like the new silverados?
Why cant they build trucks that look like this anymore....

You can nit pick them all you want for there shortcomings, but in my mind they'll always be the best...

i know they still make girls like that. But America has become too invloved with looks and comfort to have a truck thats meant for WORK. Why cant we have a F250 diesel extended cab long bed in stick? its got room for friends and tools, haulin crap in the bed, towing your other truck to the muddin trails. These new trucks are turning into the kids these days...fat, lazy, and need all the latest fads. Id rather have a bone stock diesel beater then a new one.
These new trucks can work. No question but that they are better trucks. Heavier, stiffer frames. They come with higher GVWR and load capacities. Bigger brakes, more power, better transmissions, bigger rear axles. Most come pretty well equipped with stuff I don't need. I think you can still get a pretty basic one though.
I need the 6 seats to fit all my kids so I've no choice there. I need the 8' bed because I carry my Bobcat in the back. I prefer the auto, so I don't really mind the standard-shift is gone. I think for most things the auto is better. I know clearing snow with a standard sucks, for instance. I guess there is something tough and manly about shifting, but I don't quite feel it. I like to hold my coffee and just let the truck do the shifting for me.
