2011 Ranger XLT 4X4 - "Business Casual"

Do you like your hot dogs wet....

Hotdogs are not food. Hotdogs are the part of the pig that were not good enough to be considered food ground up and repackaged as food. Thus I do not care if they are wet or dry, I do not like them at all.

I occasionally eat something I call a matchsitck dog. It is a hotdog covered in Cayan chilli powder. It tastes similar to a match.

Yes!!! Fight! Hot dogs in general are horrible but I have Hebrew national sir! Kosher beef only! Best dogs ever. I'm not religious but holy crap them old testament folks can make a fine edible meat log.

Bacon wrapped, deep fried, all beef hotdogs!

I wouldn't look to close at the core support... but maybe they corrected that by the time they made yours.
When I owned a small company I would lease a new truck every three years. I had my old '05 Sport Trac nicely built but the core support was rusting after only three years. I had planned on buying it when the lease was up but I pulled all the parts off of it and got my '08 Trac. The '99 and '02 Rangers I had before both developed rust on some of the bottom door seams and the bottom tailgate seam, some of which were fixed on warranty.

SKP aluminum thermostat housing and new Motorcraft ECT sensor.

Worth doing if you ask me. My plastic housing dripped exactly one time that I noticed, so took care of the issue before it became worse.

$26 on Rock Auto IIRC for aluminum housing with 192 degree thermostat installed. Part number was SKP SKRH144C.

Truck runs a bit smoother from the new ECT and thermostat, but now to figure out how to burp the system....
That's a good mod. The radiator tanks are still plastic. Check your radiator cap psi. Not sure about Rangers but on the Sport Trac boards we found that later models came with a 20 lb radiator cap which is too high. Swap the cap with one for a 2000 Mustang V6 that is 16 lb. I've been running one for years.
Zabteck has bored out throttle bodies.

Super Six Motorsports has heads, cams, and beefed short blocks for blown applications, but they're not cheap.

Guys on the Sport Trac boards who've got one swear by Unleashed Tuning for upgraded tunes. Ask for Torrie. Personally I could never justify the money since the recession started right when I got my truck and killed my business.

JBA makes the only 4.0 SOHC headers as far as I know and they're pricey. Guy on the Sport Trac board actually took the time to dyno his truck before and after and found a difference of exactly 1 hp. Thing is the stock manifolds are actually pretty good. With a blower you might see more difference.

Also known as a "geezer cap".
I have one but mostly because Sport Trac caps are hard to come by and someone had one for sale on our FB group, the color matched, the price was good, and it wasn't overly far away, day's drive round-trip. I only use it in the winter.

To get the cap's third brake light to work properly I had to run a trailer harness off the 4-pin plug and get a third brake light module from Amazon for $14.

I miss my '08 Sport trac. One of my all time favorite trucks that I've owned. Truck went into limp mode and I traded it in before I found this site. If I ever get a chance, I will be getting another one.

Mine will probably be for sale next year. I'd like to get a new Ranger. Supercab since I don't need a back seat any more.

Next time we can meet up, remind me to bring the 2019. Granted, it's the Super Crew, but it will give you an idea what you'll be looking at without the salesman breathing down your neck.

If they put a real transmission in em, it would have been hands down over my 2011.

I'm pretty sure you are going to have a long wait. Maybe when the Bronco based Ranger comes out since the Bronco is supposed to have a manual option.

I saw a fleet of 4 new Broncos gassing up at the Sheetz in Wexford on Thursday, 2 towing pretty large cargo trailers, all with Michigan plates. Probably a bunch of Ford engineers or marketing people going somewhere.

Thanks. I rode in Jim's Loan Ranger at the Roundup last year. Very impressive off-road. It is a little narrower inside than my Sport Trac, which is fine for me, but the guy who runs the Sport Trac board is kinda large and said he doesn't fit as well. My kids are grown and gone now and I couldn't tell you the last time anyone sat in the back seat. At this point I'd rather have a longer bed.
