2010 sport axle spline count

Hi

I have a 2010 Ranger sport 4.0 2 wheel drive. I want to add a locker for better winter traction.I am having a hard time determining if I have a 28 or 31 spline axles.I went on the axle FAQ before posting.Diameter at the spring perch is 3 1/4" and rearend has disc brakes.I keep reading that all 2wd rangers had 28 splines.Is there a definitive answer?. Thanks

I'm almost 100% positive you have 28 spline shafts (your axle probably has the tubes that taper at both the backing plates and where they go into the centersection).

The info you found I believe pertains only to '90-'09 Ranger drum-brake 8.8" axles.

Thank you 4x4.The axles tubes do taper at both ends.Must be a 28 spline.
