So I pretty much every thread in this forum when it comes to sub enclosures & when I think I finally get somewhere, the threads are so old, you cant see the pictures...

Been a ford engine tech for 32 years, buying my kid a ranger....
Building a system for my teen son, 60/40 split bench, single cab ranger.
Have a recoil red1800.5 amp that does 980 watts 2 ohm / 1285 watts 1 ohm at rear sub channel for the sub.

Where im struggling if finding solid info on what box will work.
At this point I have no idea if I want 2 10's, 2 12's, 1 single 12, etc....
Im willing to take the rear can wall plastics out to get more room so seat isnt crammed forward & cleaner install.
Did find these in the link below but not sure if it makes more sense to get a generic dual or single truck box.....
Theres also other options that might work but no idea really, like a tacoma box, chevy Silverado box, s10 box, etc...
Havent heard 2 10's in ages, would it be impressive, or is a single 12 better option?
Have no idea what to do here....
Seems like my single sealed 12 tw3 in my tacoma does great with deep bass but seems lacking for rock, alternative, etc...
That being said not sure if I should do whatever it takes & get a full-size sub in there or it is what it is & stick with a shallow mount.
Dont get the truck till end of the month so cant even take measurements.

Anybody still have pics or has gone through this & can give me some solid direction on boxes would be great...
Im not against a custom enclosure but if theres an easier way, im all ears...
Going to do cdt hd-62 in the front doors with adapter plates & most likely just eliminate the rear speakers behind the seat.
Figured ide need room for the box & since its such a small space, no point in rear fill....

Thanks, I hope.....:D

How easy is it to get a very low ohm speaker? If you get 2 speakers, you can parallel them and cut the ohm value in half. As you can see, to get the most out of your amp you need to keep the speaker ohms very low.

Thanks & clearly understand that, this amp is stable to 1 ohm...
But thats not what were discussing here, what box did you guys use.....
Tons of threads that go no-where, to old, pics gone, links gone...

Check out this and this.

That's all I could find besides the supercrew link you already have.

I saw the net audio box, twice the price as super crew for the same thing.....
on the fence on those designs not due to cost but they look deep like I will lose seating space.
just figured someone here has done some generic dual 10-12 truck boxes & they fit great....
or as stated, a box sourced for a similar truck...
Seems like most of the box makers dropped the ranger when they ford did the same.....

So, regular cabs are a notorious pain for systems. I tried fitting a universal “truck box” from back in the day in my regular cab F-150 and I couldn’t get it to fit. It was supposed to fit behind the seat in a regular cab truck. Nope…

Back in the mini truck days a lot of the regular cab guys that wanted a system would cut the back of the cab out and the front of the bed to build something.

More than likely you are going to need a custom box. Then you have airspace limitations and sub depth limitations, so you need to run shallow subs, either 10” or 12”. Probably need to stuff the box with polyfill too.

10” subs tend to be punchier but 12” has a little deeper bass. Personally I prefer Rockford Fosgate subs and 12”, but Alpine and Kicker are both also pretty decent. You get a lot of what you pay for with subs.

The sub market is overly saturated & down right overwhelming......
Im down for a custom enclosure,
Seems like there was a TON of threads on sub boxes for single cab on this forum from years past but..
All the vital info & pics are all gone....
Put a jl 12 tw3 d4 in my tacoma with an arc 1000watt amp, lows are great....
Seems a bit lacking when it comes to the punchy stuff.

Then on the other side of the coin, you get a couple of 10's & youre going to wish you had the 12....:scare:

It’s a whole thing. I was really big into it all for awhile. Then I blew my subs, Best Try wouldn’t honor the warranty, and my big amp got stolen and I kind of walked away from it for awhile.

Previous owner of my green Ranger had built some monstrosity of a rectangular box in the extended cab with four 10” subs and four 6x9’s. There are two 12” RF P2 subs with a bridged 1,100 watt amp in a box I built now and it’s, in my opinion, just as loud if not better. I also have a useable extended cab because I built the box to be no more than 7” thick, so it sits on the ledge in the back of the extended cab and still gives me room behind the seats. I plugged everything into a calculator for sub boxes. But I knew my measurements and what the specs for the subs were and built it specifically. I haven’t built a regular cab box yet…

Just put 2 high watt 6x9s in a long single port box. Not the 6 x9s that have the little tweeters, basic 6x9s.

On a strong amp with a good box, people will think you have 12s. I did that back in the early 90s and people would always come and look because they never believed it was just two 6x9s. I think they were 120 or 100 watt pioneers with a 300w jensen amp. We were just playing around when we put it all together and used thin wood frame boards with drywall and it was soooo loud and deep
