2010 ranger fx4 title chasing?

Easy way to tell if its 09 or 10... does it have rear disc brakes? Rear discs started in 2010.

Should have a date on the door sticker too.

By any chance, did anything turn up on Carfax?
I'm curious to know how this turns out. $500 seems to be a good price for a decent looking truck.
Please keep us posted...

Its not an FX4 - its a Sport that someone put FX4 labels on. The fender flares are not the right color for FX4 and all of the FX4 in that era were 2-tone paint.

In Colorado its not that difficult to bond for a title. But it takes about 4 months, so it would be faster to wait for April for the seller to go to the dmv and get a replacement/duplicate title and then have them sign it over to you. But your state may be completely different.

Sport or fx4 makes no difference to me. It’s a nice truck! I talked to the local sheriffs office about the title and they ran everything for me. Now I need to decide if I want to go thru the process of getting the title. I’m probably just going to get it running and use it for trails etc... the title process is a joke out here!

Ya I use to live in colorado and the title process is super easy for sure. I use to live in park county and have done it once before.

I did the car fax search and everything came back clean... I even stumbled on the previous owners phone number and address. Amazingly she lives about 15 minutes away from me.

Maybe you could get another bill of sale written up, if that would help.

If you have her phone number, give her a call and maybe offer her $50 or $100 to help you with what you need to get the title. I doubt she will want the truck back when you inform her that the engine is apart and the truck is not running. It may seem like an unnecessary expense, but if you can get a clean title in your name, it is worth it just for peace of mind.

Update on the ranger, between the procedure of getting a title, and finding out the motor is no good... I am going to be parting this beauty out.

Also called around and got car fax and ran the vin thru the data base... there are no liens, or anything of the sort.
