2009 E250 Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 Sensor

Hey guys,
Work van is throwing the following codes:
P0135 - O2 sensor heater circuit b1s1
P0030 - HO2S heater control circuit b1s1

Pretty safe to assume I just need to change the sensor?
Is it fairly straight forward to get at? Pull the doghouse and it's right there?

My experience with P0030 is limited, but I have dealt with P0135 many times and the issue was always in the sensor.

Dog box is probably the best way to get at it, but it should be pretty easy just sliding under too.

With that P0030 in there I would check the fuse for the heater circuit as well. It is possible that the fuse popped when the heater failed.

Anyone happen to know what the fuse number is?
09' with a 4.6L, just a normal van not a modified chassis
 
I did throw a new NTK sensor on it (company's money) and so far no codes. In my limited experience O2 sensor codes tend to set pretty immediately.

Going to bring my meter in tomorrow and manually check all the fuses
 
That code was a circuit code, which is part of the continuous component monitor.

Basically what that means is if the problem was still there the light would be on right away.

Also, while not up to Bosch's quality NTK sensors aren't horrible. I've had good luck with them.

Ah ok, well we'll see how it lasts, funny that Bosch are the "good" sensors for Fords. Been dealing with Hondas for a couple years now, NTK and Denso are the "good"/oem sensors, and Bosch are the "bad" ones that you don't use or the computer will flip out and throw a code.

It's all about how things are calibrated. The software for a lot of US and European vehicles is written to read a signal from a Bosch sensor because that's who makes the OE part for those brands.

Same with the Japanese cars and NTK/Denso. Those are the OE parts and so the software is designed around that manufacturer's part. Same reason Delco and Motorcraft plugs are good for Chevy and Ford, NGKs and Densos are good for Hondas and Toyotas, and Champions suck in everything. They started with the common basic parts they already had and built the rest of the car around those.
