I just got an 07 ranger sport handed to me by my uncle with under 30,000 km's on it and was wondering the best/cheapest way to drop it.
I'm 18 and go to university so money doesn't necassarily come easy but its not my biggest issue.
Any input helps

get a BL and put it on backwards.

BL = body lift.

I'm just giving you a hard time though. If you really want to go cheap for a drop you can probably lose 2-3 inches in the back by flipping the axle, which in terms of the technical aspects is essentially a reverse body lift.

I'm not sure what you could do with the front. Reverse T-bar crank maybe? I know if you crank them in one direction the truck goes up, so it only makes sense (to me at least) that if you go the other way it would go down.

I deal mostly in 1st and 2nd gen suspensions though. There are a lot of other guys on here that know a lot more about the torsion bar setups than I do. I'm just one of the few still up this late.

If it has torsion bars, which I think Sport's do, don't even waste your time!

Its a 07 of course it has torsion bars

naw its not a 4x4 but i want it nice and low, what exactly do the torsion bars do?

Ok look under the truck and see if theres 2 big bars going from about under your doors to the A arm... those are the torsen bars and there is no point to lowering them because they can't go too low as they hang down a good 3" or so... and will barely clear the ground if you lower it any mostly cause I think 06+ rangers actually sit a few inches lower then older rangers.

if you have coil springs then you can get kits and what not. but seeing as you most likely have a bar setup I would just leave it... why do you want to lower your truck and go to college. save your money till afterwards...

i have a pile of cash sitting in my bank since my rents pay for everything besides my parking pass at school and at home so no point in keeping the money there wen itll be blown on bars and booze n e ways lol

Shut up, will you?

I don't like lowered trucks either, but it's his truck, so until you can come up with a good, technical reason about why it shouldn't be lowered (will break parts, will become unsafe, etc), one that doesn't involve your ignorant, over stated opinion, just leave him alone and stay out of it.

It's his truck, as long as it's technically possible without an AllanD level of knowledge and fab ability, let him to what he wants and keep your ignorant ass out of it.
