2006+ Ranger mirror swap using Explorer heated mirror?

I know 06+ Ranger mirrors will swap on 93-up rangers. The problem is I want heated mirrors and I guess Rangers never had them. Explorers did though but ex mirrors won't work because of the part that attaches to the door. Explorers and Rangers use the same size glass for manual mirrors.

I'm wondering if anyone has swapped explorer heated mirror parts in the Ranger 06 mirrors. I'm thinking it will have to be also a power mirror, not manual. If the power mirrors aren't interchangeable, then maybe part of the exterior housing can be swapped?

Just wondering because I'm planning on trying it once I get some mirrors.

Finally got around to starting on this project. It will work. The 06+ heated mirrors are interchangeable on electric mirrors.

Unfortunately, taking the mirrors apart is tricky. I think the correct way may be to use a flat screwdriver. However, I just pried off the mirror glass part by hand and broke a bunch of small plastic parts. So, have to use some epoxy now to fix the broken parts before I can proceed. Going to try to take the other side mirror out with a screwdriver method next. I'll have to take some photos of this.
