how do you adjust the door to keep it from rattling. i have an 06 extended cab 4x4. with a lift and 33's. it rides rough, but the passenger door doesn't make the same rattle.. it seems to be coming from the striker...help
seems to be common on rangers.
once i tried some really thick rubber strip glued on the door, worked good for the noise.
mine has the same issue, but i havent got time to do the same fix. what i did on mine for temp fix is this: took some electric tape and covered the striker with it, have to close it harder but works
hope it helps
those seem like they would work. i'm looking for a better option though. is it possible to unbolt the striker latch and slide it? or anyway to adjust anything involving the door alignment
Been wondering about this myself. My 07 has been doing it since I can remember. I thought it might have been that key that holds the door lock cylinder in place. My buddy works for the ford service dept so i'm gonna have him take a look and let ya'll know what we come up with for permanent fix.
yeah my 01 does the same thing too...same with my friends 06. only the drivers side door.. usually the striker plate can be moved but the machine screws that are used to hold the latch in place are centering screws...no matter what they do they taper down so they will center. maybe get some different screws that do not taper down and see if that works. i was thinking of spraying a bunch of layers of rubberized undercoating on it.
