Hey i ran across this community and decided to join up and post about my build up. The title basically says it all. Im building up my ranger for the looks of a prerunner but also get the playability out of it. So far ive got a 3 inch lift up front on the torsion suspension with custom upper control arms allowing for 8 to 10 inches of travel and upgraded the shocks to bilstein 5100's. (give me your opinions on everything please first truck build). I bent myself a prerunner bumper and skid plate and welded it to the stock bumper mounts and made two tabs for two rectangle off road lights. I bought a light bar and customized it to my liking that i bolted on the top skirt of the stock bed which has two 6 inch pro comp explorer lights on it. Im going to have a custom bed cage made for the rear which allows for a bike and gear to be placed in between a spare tire mount on each side of the bed for roughly $300. Im thinking of running bilstein 5100's in the rear as well. Is that possible???? then planning on wrapping it up with fiberglass in all four corners. Thats the gist of what i want to do ill have some pictures up soon but need some advice and help on how to do this. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Sounds rad man, post some pics of your truck how it is right now too. Lots of pictures cause it's fun looking at other peoples progress.

What size tires are you planning on running?

Quick question about your set up? You said you are using custom uca's...did you make them or buy them? Is it a ball joint or uniball set up? I am asking cuz I want to do either this or a custom LT set up for my truck...its an 02 edge. I would be interested in buying a set of uca's from you if you made them yourself.

Im uploading some pics of how it sits right now. Havent really kept old ones. But right now im running 31 inch baja radial tires on 15 inch rims. And for the Uca i made a pair but i didnt like the amount of drop it gave. (to little) so i went up to my cousins buddy's shop and he helped my crank out some nicely bent ones. I just went with the stock ball joint since the edge platform is 4x4 i figured it should hold up nicely

5100 are great "throw a way" shocks. but thier down fall is you can not tune them , or rebuild them when the time comes.

IF you can afford it, I'd look in to some of the "Race" type of shocks, like King,Fox, bilstien 9100/7100's,saw's,radflo's with remote resi's for the rear.
(2.5 inch would be better than 2.0 shocks. but what ever fits your budget can work.)

Well for both ends really, but if your going to build a bed cage...might as well do it for some shocks that you can rebuild and tune/valve.

so lets see some pics of your arms now...

this will be easier for everyone to see like this; good looking truck btw!

ok, how much would you and your cousin charge for a set of these uca's? also, what type spindle lift did you use? the truck looks really good by the way.

ok, well I am in phoenix so would you be able to ship them? I will pay the cost of that too. If you can do it for about 650 total, let me know.

for 650 id personally go with a camburg or dixon bros uca something professionally built i hate to say it but its prob a better choice than me making them due to the fact that i dont know what the suspension of your truck is like and id be modeling it off mine which might not work since im running stock spindles.

and thanks for the compliments guys. Im open to any and all suggestions on what to do with it or how to go with the build.
