Good afternoon guys, i got a 2004 Ranger with a 2.3. I got a nasty coolant leak. If i am looking at it right, there is a port on the back of the water pump that the lower hose mounts too. It looks like its pissing from there. Does anyone have any idea of what that elbow might be called, or any experience in this leak i got would be stellar. Please and thank you

So i got this leak fixed, i drove it for 30 min no leaks. The repair are is still not leaking, but i got a small drip of water under the truck near the front of the oil pan. Are there any coolant passages behind the timing cover? I an afraid this whole block is washed out.

If the waterpump is mounted to the timing cover, I am positive there are water passages inside the timing cover.

the water pump is to the block, at this point in my repair, i thought i was good. But i think i am hosed. That hose barb that pressed into the top of the waterpump i think is where its leaking now.
at this point, i am prob gonna take it to carmax and unload it. I lost my a$$ and i dont want to loose any more

Looks bad, trying to find an engine is almost impossible. I was looking to buy a wrecked ranger from the auction and pull it as a last resort.

try a 2004 Focus 2.3
lots of them on car-part
you will have to swap over some accessories, like the front engine cover to get the pulley back.

before you dump more money, how bad is the rust?

I may buy a total truck from copart and strip the motor out, i found one

if you do I may be interested in bed parts, like the front panel.

even the front panel? even one that is slightly wrinkled would work for my project.

wrinkles I can deal with, it's rust that's a deal breaker.

I dont think there will be parts like that left over. The last one i saw had been ran over by a semi the looks of it. Like a bedless ranger
