Hello everyone finally decided to join the forum and start a build thread. I have been studying this forum for over a year I've seem some really talented people on here I am by no means building this to be a "new" truck but a "fairly nice" one is good enough for me I mainly want the 5.0 power in the small package but I will take the time to straighten out the dents and dings for a nice jet black paint job thanks for looking and I'm happy to hear any advice or comments.

Pics and save the pats effort get a 97 explorer donor

I actually had a 97 ex I used as a donor it is awd I will be converting the trans to 2wd. I am having a difficult time uploading photos off my phone any suggestions would be great

We can't wait to see some of your photos. Good luck with the build and thanks for sharing with us all. Most of us use a photo sharing/hosting web site such as Photobucket. You can try posting your photos there and linking them to your thread.

Id look for a 2wd trans or make sure you have the tail housing with the speed sensor and if you go conversion route pick up a rebuild kit for the trans its gonna be taken all the way apart to swap output shafts

OK I will definitely be converting it and rebuilding does sound like a good idea since it will be disassembled. Will a tailshaft and output shaft work from an aod? I was under the impression most parts like those will interchange with aod, aode, 4r70w.

That im not sure but some one has an answer on that

Yes, it will interchange. Another option is to install a front diff and go 4wd/awd...

Yes I thought about that but I would have to get a solid axle to get it to work with the coil spring truck, I do have the front different from the ex.
