Anyone have any experience with these? I checked one out today on my way to work. Had PA plates on it, but was parked in a driveway a town over from me. Owner lives in PA just over the border and owns a few apartments up here that he was doing maintenance on.

It runs and drives great, has a sick interior, and tons of power with good handling from the sport package.

I'm assuming I would get around 18 city and 25 highway, since that's what my friend gets with his Crown Vic with the 4.6 liter engine. If anything it might be better than that, since it's a 3.9 liter in the lincoln I believe.

Just over 92k and he wants 4000, told me he would settle for 3500. He's selling because he has a truck and another car, and doesn't need a car this size anymore. He said it's way under book value but he is "elderly and very well off" in his own words.

Anyone have any details or experiences to add?

This isn't it, but it's a pretty decent picture of what it looks like. Only difference is the one this guy is selling has an OEM spoiler on the back and has OEM chrome wheels.

I had a silver one as you described. Great car, but engine parts are expensive since it is a Jaguar drivetrain. I never had any problems with mine and sold it for $9000 in 2008.

I checked it out, but I have to wait before I get another vehicle. I let the guy know and he said he could probably hang on to it, since he's confident he can sell it any day of the year.

It was a sweet test drive. Very comfortable with amazing handling for a car that size.

$45k new seems about $10k too high.

Same drivetrain as the Jaguar S Type and the last Thunderbird. Prob not as cheap to maintain as a Ranger

For $3500-$4000, might want a mechaninc to give it a once over first

.

I just looked up the MSRP for the base model, it was listed at 36,000 for the base.

He has the sport model with all of the options, and he might have gotten an extended service package or something through the dealer because he said he's had it dealer maintained since new, and has a nice folder with all the paperwork.

we do not see many of those in for repar but BEWARE when older EURO cars break it is BAD. 19 IN TIRES ARE EXPESIVE AND NOT AS AVAILABLE AS 18 OR EVEN 20. JUST MY.02 OUR SHOP SEES 1000 CARS A MONTH(I AM A SERVICE WRITER NOT A TECH)

Lincolns arent european, they are a ford product lol

Fyi:

Lincoln LS's are a big POS, just like the Mercury Mistake(Mystequ/Contour)! Moneymakers for us (Ford), but TERRIBLE for the consumer!!!

Yeah I ended up not getting it anyway. If I was going to go lincoln I'd probably get a continental or even a town car. My buddies town car is pretty nice inside.

I'm moving more towards a V6 explorer. Awd and more room kind of won out for me.

I'd buy it. not had a lick of trouble from the continental....... the LS has a lot of potential for a go fast ride. I really like the manumatic and if I ever replace the continental it will prolly be with an LS or a mercury marauder.

It is going to be quite a trick to find an AWD V6 Explorer...

And the only kind of boat I want is the kind I can fish off of :secret:
