2.5L ('98-'01) 2001 2.5l 5 speed service manuals

Yes, those would be the basic set, which are well worth having.

There are also other more specialized Ford manuals for each year to be aware of, which have much more detail in specific areas:

For wiring diagrams, you would need to also have the EVTM (Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual). Easy to find.

For complete engine systems description and diagnostics you'd need to add the Powertrain Control / Emissions Diagnosis manual. More difficult to find.

You can't go wrong having the factory manuals.

The shop manual set and wiring diagram book are Ranger specific.

The powertrain / emissions manual will cover all the of the different drivetrains for that year.

Yes, that's pricy. You may find a complete set, or make a complete set, for less money but more time, by checking eBay daily. Manuals that get listed with a low BIN (buy it now) price don't last long at all, and you have to check often and scoop them up quick. And it may take a while before what you're looking for gets listed at what you want to pay.

I guess it depends on, if you have more time than money, or more money than time (or, like me, short on both : ).

Try making them an offer.

I honestly feel, though, that factory manuals will pay for themselves, even at that asking price.

Well thanks for the reply, I might just watch ebay for a while as I have more time than funds. I just replaced the ac compressor and condenser and ordered a radiator as the original cracked on the plastic :(

You won't regret having a set of factory manuals.

I used to keep mine in the shitter; I think that sitting there for too long is how I got hemorrhoids. :)

7.16.2024 There's a set for $45 on flea bay right now .

I've been a mechanic over 50 years now and I always try to get factory shop manuals but the used ones are typically picked up free out of the dealer's trash so I flat refuse to pay silly greedy prices .

I'm looking here today because I can't seem to find a link to the 2001 Ranger 2.5L parts diagrams ~ is there a link or place I can look ? .

TIA,

Do you have a link? I am not seeing any for $45. Maybe I'm too late
