we have a 2000 ford ranger 2.5, manual transmission. Started fine, wouldn't go into gear. Replaced clutch, slave cylinder and bleed the slave cylinder. Same thing won't go into gear. Please help
Does it "go into gear" when engine is off?
Is so then it is a clutch issue.
If not then it is a transmission issue
The stock pressure plate for the clutch is self adjusting, it needs to be "reset" if a new clutch disc is installed.
This page has a picture of a self adjusting plate and a standard plate side by side, self adjusting is on the left and you can see the 3 springs for the self adjust mechanism and they are compressed, which means it is reset for new clutch disc installation.

Standard pressure plate can be used but clutch engage/disengage on pedal changes over the life of the clutch, as the disc wears down.
Self adjusting pressure plate keeps engage/disengage in the same place on the pedal.
every once in a while a truck that is shifted hard will slip out of the shift fork and remain in that gear, so that it cannot be shifted into another gear, if it was broke before the new clutch parts and its broke after the new clutch parts look elsewhere..... and read some other clutch articles that readers have posted, alot of them cover the trouble shooting tips mentioned above and will give alot of guidance while your waiting for responses.
