I just installed a new Fuel pump Assembly and the Gas gauge worked for a minute then showing full with a half tank of gas?

has worked for me in the past.fill the tank up. The float is most likely stuck in a high position. By filling the tank it will bring the float all the way up and reset it.
As a guy who spends his life working on other people's cars, if you take it to a shop, the guy working on it doesn't want to hear what you learned from a bunch of jack-asses on the internet. Nor does he really want your comments or input on how to do his job.
But I've seen the circuit board rub through at the connector on the back of the cluster and open the circuit. Your gauge reads full with high resistance.
