You're not wrong but would still indicate high leakdown on both the middle cylinders... plus if you have all the plugs out at the time it would come out the plug hole.

I don't trust some leakdown testers, I bought one that only pressurizes the cylinders to like 10psi, I don't think that's high enough to test everything... plus you're trusting whatever the gauges say... at work we have ones that just have two gauges so you can do the % yourself or just be lazy and air up to 100psi and see how far off the second gauge reads...
what about compression testing #2 with and without the plug in #3 to possibly show a difference?
 
Compression probably wouldn't, pressurizing one of the two cylinders locket at TDC and seeing if any air is coming out the other spark plug hole would be a good test for head gasket.
 
Update: Mechanic swapped a new valve onto the compression tester and now getting 150 psi on all cylinders.

Next question: Anyone here run on just one coil pack? Will the computer throw a fit about it?
