any tips on finding a shifter for an fm145

Core Shifters. I bought one a couple years ago. They're expensive, but I have no regrets. It was a bit stiff when I installed it, but I was told by Core Shifters that you can remove 2 of the 4 springs for the side to side movement. Perfect after that.

Here's one in PA. A lot of these people will ship. This is a core so they will probably sell the shifter if it still has it. The Mitsubishi trans has 12 bolts on the bottom cover, the Toyo Koygo has 14 bolts on the bottom cover. This is supposed to be the 12 bolt but double check if you call.

I've never seen a manual transmission at a wrecking yard come with a shifter. And if it did, the odds of the 32-33 year old shifter being usable is pretty slim. I have two very used OEM FM145 shifters sitting in a box, and I decided it would be best to spend the $270 and not have to deal with that junk again. Like I said, no regrets.

Mine still works good? I use it everyday going to work. I have a Toyo Koygo shifter I will probably never use.

I swapped in a FM145 into my Bronco II. The hard part is getting the shifter knob off. You have to take a heat gun and get it hot and pull it off, they have some sort of glue holding it in place. You have to be careful, it's easy to get the knob too hot. Then you stick it back on but it doesn't want to stay. I put some PVC pipe glue on mine and it quit coming off so far.
