2.9 Running Bad, Misfire Becoming Urgent.

Might want to carry a spare Motorcraft TFI in the glovebox. When they go its quick but it presents as a random misfire progressing to intermittent no-start in about 100 miles.

OBD1 oxygen sensors only last about 40,000 miles, by the way.
Yeah, just did the heat sink TFI mod with a dummy unit in the distributor, my TFI was rapidly going bad. I do notice it's more responsive now. I do need to replace the O2 sensor, it's just so stuck on there that it's ridiculous. Might genuinely take it to a mechanic.
Well, unfortunately I can’t give you a definitive answer. It still lugs sometimes, once every 2-3 days. Could be an injector failing. Honestly not too worried as it’s minor and drives great the rest of the time.
My milage has been down too, will need to find and fix my problem eventually.

I think the tps was the BIG fix. Tune up kit was needed a while ago, made it run better but not sure if it correlated to my problem.

Your problem sounds much like the TPS, IAC, and idle set screw. If you’d like I can run you through the factory procedure to get everything in spec and ecu re learned.
Thanks, I believe I have that page bookmarked somewhere but if I can't find it again, I'll let you know. Hoping to get this fixed soon haha
