2.9 overheating

Yep. The factory gauge is an idiot light with a needle

Well i think i might just leave it alone though but one more question.it not having any pressure can that mess anything up?

I run the.cap loose on my big rig with no problems.

It doesnt really over heat its just a little hotter than i would like it to be.

How do you know if it's "hotter than what you would like it to be", if you don't even know how hot it's running? There are two things that are needed to keep the boiling point high, antifreeze and the system being under pressure. With it not being under pressure, the boiling point will be lower.

the orignal guage says that i put a new temp sending unit for the gauge on not to long ago and it is over half way on the temp gauge.it has antifreeze but no pressure but it doesnt boil a all when i open the cap when its fully warmed up so am guessing its not getting hot enough then? But i also have a aftermarket temp gauge but i unhooked it cause it stopped working.

Ok today i drove it to school then home and i felt the top radiator hose cause i was under there checking something else and now i have pressure the top radiator hose is hard as a rock now to figure out why it is just over heating just a little bit
