2.8 liter TBI swap

Dude it's never going to cool off. This heat really sucks. It got up to 105 today where I work....

My fuel system originaly came out of an 87 ranger with a 2.3. the 2.3, 2.9 have the same tanks/pumps in gen 1 rangers. Mine is a metal tank, its sending unit is the same as what was in it before the truck was conveted from a carbed 2.3 to a FI 2.3 to a FI 2.8. Basiclly my dad took out the original tank, hooked up the sending unit wires on the FI tank to the truck and it worked fine (other having to add a couple to run the pump in the tank). Just remeber that my truck has the 2 fuel pumps, the low and high pressure but due to going to Duraspark, I will be by passing the high pressure pump and just using the low pressure one. I will do a write-up with picks and all that stuff on how to convert to a Duraspark on my and my dads truck.

Will the low pressure pump be enough for the carb it is my understanding you need 6-8 psi going into the carb and it is not so much pressure as volume just a question IDK.

It will be more then enough, guys have done this to there 5.0 swaps (carbeed ones that is). these pumps can feed a 5.0 FI too. The low pressure pump pumps at 7 psi, the factory manual pump on the 2.8 runs at 5.5 psi. If not, I will run the high pressure one with a regulator (already know a cheap way to do that one). My dads set-up will have to be ran that way due to his truck only has one eletric fuel pump that runs at 44 factory psi.

The Dizzy's came in today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now to get the Duraspark box, cap, rotar, etc.....

Im still debating on if I want to make a metering block or try to find a carb at the JY. Problem with the metering block is like how it all works and what not, or is making it a simple as it looks?

The long arms were shipped out last Monday/Tuesday but thats as far as its gotten, doesnt say that they are on there way to me so I will have to call the guy and have him call them and see whats up if progress on shipping them hasnt progressed after this Monday.

Went out and paid insurance on the old beast, cant wait till I get her Durasparked so I can get her back on the road.

As for the long arms I need to get on the computer so that I can get the link to his website to get ahold of him (on ps3 atm).

Well after calling him, finding out what was going on with my long arms etc etc..........

THEY FINALLY ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!

Have to say they are beefy. The welds are flawless, loving the poweder coating and only took me 20 min to get it out of the packaging.

Might have came from under your truck.

Right now I'm just trying to find time to get started on my truck.
