2.8 liter TBI swap

Nice... that d30 looks good... try to take as many pics a detailed parts list for that SAS in case i decide to do mine down the road hahah

No progress until I get my D30 gears then I will be tearing into it to see what all it needs. Shouldnt need much just swap out the gears and change the axle seals. Ya I'm keeping the clear diff. cover it came with, doesnt have a hairline crack on it at all or any damage which tells me that it wasnt used very hard before I got it unlike some that I have seen. At most it may need new brakes, but I'll use those to clean up the rotors first just has surface rust on them. I'll have a list as soon as I tear into it which should be sometime this week hopefully.

You'll know when I start my SAS, trust me. I'll give as much detail as I can.

PART 1 Alrighty well its time for it.....time to start working on my SAS. Part 1 get it torn apart see what it needs and get the right gears in it. Tis axle has the CV jonts on it but I dont care. So far it needs a new CV boot as one of them was torn open but thats a small fix. For somebody who has never torn apart a from axle I think Im doing good so far.

In the mean time I had some rust remover in a contaner so I decided to see if it would take the heavy rust off and it worked better then expected. Dont have enough to do the whole rotar at once so did a third at a time. Just need to sand the rest off but better then the other one looks which is soaking at the moment.

sweet build so far and im glad i could help...... and thanks for the gears....

Im glad I could help you too. Its a win-win situation.

Danger if you lived closer I would give you a good solid 89 cab..... Switching the cab would be easier than dealing with rust....

I had the chance to do a cab swap but didnt have the time for it so I took out the floor boards and put them in my truck. Plus I need to learn how to do body work. I just like working on my ranger. I know a website that I can get new cab corners for 20 bucks each.

looks good dude. maybe if i win the lottery i'll get something done on mine.
i think thats how i know im a true ranger guy. if i won the lottery i'd still keep my truck.
sept i'd convert it to a crew cab, duramax powered 1200 horse 40 inch tires 4x4 with nitrous and a fancy souped up interior. cause that would be damn unique.

If you need to know anything about doing the body work let me know.. I have over 20 years experience.. one thing I would suggest is using weld through primer if you aren't already. I think SEM makes it. :icon_welder:

I'm not doing work on the body till spring but while I'm here whats the best way to fix cab corners, I know a website that sells them for 20 bucks a corner. I'm trying to aviod using alot of body filler. I'm not going for a professional job but something that will last awhile, and not till I get rid of my truck because I will never get rid of it.

And If I won the lottery I would still drive my ranger.

I wont be able to ship the gears out until at least Tuesday due to a guy coming to get parts off my 2.3 liter Monday. That money will be going to shipping your gears to you. The rest will go twards a shim kit. I'm also waiting for a responce from the guy that wants my FI intake system pmed him the total and gave a discount for him. I se this week beig a busy one for me.
