Is it possible to put 3 inch piping for my exhaust, and if so, how will it affect the performance ?

possible yes but won't do anything for power... I went from 2" to 2.5" on my turbo 2.3 and didn't notice a whole lot different...

How greatly does the pitch change? Cuz I was thinking of putting a 3 inch pipe kit, with a walker cat and magna flow muffler

IMO I would not go any bigger than 2 1/4 on a stock 2.3, 2 1/2-3" for a hopped up 2.3 depending how built it is...... if you go too big on exhaust it will be a dog from a dead stop.... the big detemination on noise level is the length of the system, where it exits and the muffler used...a dual outlet muffler is typically louder than a single outlet....I ran a 2 1/4" system on my 88 ranger, first with a really annoying glasspack... then changed it to a flowmaster type muffler, which sounded better and had better low end..... on my current ranger I have a stock type system with a thrush turbo and it sounds good to me, not loud in the cab but it is louder than stock

What about with a ported head? Because that is all the upgrading I'm going to be doing for the time being
