$2.33 core charge for aluminum water pump, Yea, or Nay?

Just replaced a water pump on a GM 3800 V6, it is aluminum, should I go for the:

$2 core charge, or...

Smash it up and scrap out the aluminum?

return it and get your core charge back. you wont get that much from the scrap. not around here at least

Yeah, core it. Even at $1.75 a pound for aluminum, there isn't a pound of aluminum on there.

they wouldn't give you clean aluminum price anyway.. you've have to take the steel off it.
