I have a 89 ranger 2.3 5spd and when it idles it sounds like it has a camshaft in it but it doesnt ive replaced everything but the egr valve and still no fix can someone help me please

it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. the 88 model had the same problem. it would run rough but what is causing it to do that is unknown.

i also heard something about the fuel delivery problem being caused by a faulty fuel shut off swich. i would try to change that out and see if it helps.

if you have gunky buildup in your throttle body it can also cause it to idle rough. check your throttle body and if it is realy dirty take it off and clean it with some carb cleaner. olso check your o2 censor

it runs normal when you tap the gas right? if so adjust your idle it might be to low

define "everything" with an itemized list.

i have replaced the fuel pump injectors throttle position sensor idle air control map sensor plugs wires egr position sensor

hmm. But it runs ok off idle? Check your timing.

yea it runs fine jus idle it sounds like a v8 does with a big cam in it

check the timing, see if its off. If not, start worrying.

does it have a distributer or coil pack. most likely a distributer right?
