Does anyone have a photo of an '83-88 dash with radio delete? Is it a plate or part of the dash/cluster bezel? My '87 came radio delete but it looks like they had to cut the opening out of the trim to put a radio in. Oddly they hadn't bothered to add any speakers so I still have the speaker block off plates in the dash. I've seen a radio delete '89-92 in the junkyard and it just had a plate. I'm curious on the '83-88 setup.

Off the top of my head, and relying on fading memory, the '83-84 blank plate bolted or snapped to the dash trim panel, I think via stamped nuts on studs through the knob holes or tabs to snap into the face opening. When the radio changed from "3 hole" to the DIN style for '85 through '88, the blank plate bolted to the dash foundation with ears that matched the radio mounting tabs, and the trim panel installed over it.

I'll check tomorrow to see if I can dig up any documentation. I do know, that I threw away a shipload of blank radio, speaker covers, and antenna plugs "back in the day".
