Ok, so I have run into another issue. I need some pictures to see how others have dealt with this.

My problem is this:

I have the engine in, it is all wired (but I might change the injector harness yet).

Battery is in.

Air box is kinda in, but could be a lot better (this is part of the problem).

I am out of room. And my washer tank is still on the floor.

My bigger problem with space is the positioning of the fuse block and air box. Any one have some good pics of their 1st gen 4.0 setup?

This do ya any good? Don't mind the wiring mess, like everything else I own, its an unfinished project haha. BTW, I used the 1st gen washer reservoir in the stock location with no issues.

Those look exactly like what I am trying to do, but I can't get the air box to sit like that. It wants to sit at about a 45* angle to the fender and kinda point the back right corner at the engine, which is my biggest problem.

I think it might be because I am trying to hook it to the factory 87 grille duct which doesn't seem to fit the hole correctly.

I know the factory washer tank will fit because at one point I did have all this wiring installed and the tank bolted in. My problem there right now is of my own making. I have large sections of my custom window harness sitting there until I clean it up.

Also, what are you guys doing for BARO? I was going to just plug in the original MAP sensor and leave it open to air, but the plug didn't fit. Then I sold the old harness before grabbing the plug, but NAPA lists the same PN for the plug all the way from 88 to 93. :icon_confused: Mine looks more like the plugs for the MAF and coil.

I didn't have power windows, so no harness issues there. As for the baro, used the one from the donor (90 ranger) in stock 1st gen location. I don't think I ever even unplugged it.

I bypassed the MAP sensor.. I use the MAF, I'm using everything 4.0 motor related.
No pics.. looks like the other guys up there except where their coolant/washer reservoir is, my 2nd battery is there, and my reservoir is over by the firewall behind the cruise control box.

When we did the B2 we used a complete Gen 3 Ranger harness and moved the battery, fuse box, PCM, washer tank etc to the Gen 3 Ranger configuration.

We have since swapped the 93-94 Ranger air box intake setup.

That is what I thought I saw a lot of people did. But then I tried to plug it in to the original MAP sensor and it doesn't fit. Then I went on NAPA and started comparing part numbers and they don't list the BARO sesnor at all, but they do list the plug, and the number never changes. That is when I got confused.

my harness does not have a MAP and for my airbox the bottom half is 89 and the top is from the explorer or ranger, I can remember if it came with the motor or I had to pull one.
Not sure if that helps at all.

I found a sensor for it.

Now I still have to get the air box straightened out.

What did you guys mount it to? It doesn't look like the holes line up right for it to go on the factory vac canister. Drill time?

mine is mounted to the inner fender
