Does anyone have pics of a 1st gen with 31" tires and a 2' body lift or even stock. Just want 31" tires but not necessarily a lift if i can away with it

Thanks

The only way to get away with 31's on a stock Gen I is to do some fender cutting. You will need a minimum of 2" lift to clear the 31's.

If 31's fit on a stock 3rd gen.. they should fit on a stock 1st gen.

What mhughes is saying (if I'm right?) is that mjones doesn't know what hes talking about when he says he needs at least 2 inches of lift.

31's can fit on a first gen with no lift... but,

Depends on the tire, there are many different sizes of 31" tires lol

It is usually the front end that wll rub with 31's, a small coil spacer is normally all that is needed.

But it really depends on the truck and how much the springs have sagged.

I think i'm going to run a 2" body lift just to be safe but does anyone have pictures of this setup on a 1st/2nd gen ranger. want to double check that it's what i want

thanks

if i were you i would just put a 2" lift in the front they are cheap, 140 dollars plus the cost of alignment caster, this is what i am planning on doing

thats what i was going to do but someone said that the spacers could make the front in unalignable.

is that true because if not i'll do this. and does having a 2wd mean i'd need bigger thatn a 2" lift or is a 2" lift enough

thanks

This is untrue, 31s fit on a gen 3 because the wheel openings are larger. You will need 2 iches of lift on a gen 1 or 2 to fit a standard 31 inch tire (measureing 29 to 30 inches)

If you look in the tech library, it will tell you that you have a better chance of aligning a 2wd after 2 inch coil spacers (or leveling coils, which is the route I think you should go) than it is to align a 4wd.

2 inches of lift should be plenty, the only things you will likely have to do is move the bottom of the front fender liner back about an inch to keep it from rubbing. The black ranger in my avatar is a gen 2 with 31 swampers, 2 inch skyjacker coils, and beltech shackles in the back.

I always thought that the Gens 1&2 had bigger openings?
My mistake I guess.

Hey Loanranger you got any pic of your truck sittin flat wanna see how it's look everyday. I've seen your offroad pics and their pretty sweet but wanna see what i'd see everyday

thanks

i have 31's on my truck with no fender cutting for a long time an they will only rub in the front of yur fender if you turn sharp an have body roll but i ended up cutting my fenders an i think i had these little coil spacers in there when i bought it

not trying to sound like an ass, but know your roll.

31's will NOT fit on a 4wd Gen 1 Ranger or BII. I even installed 4.0 Ranger coils(gave me 1" of lift) and they still wouldnt fit.
