1999 Mazda B3000

Thanks for all the help I've been given. Did the compression check on the truck. Got # 1 123 #2 0 # 3 109 #4 109 #5 30 # 6 109. Couldn't get a good read on #5 because of blow by. Head gasket blown. Contaminated antifreeze, but the oil looks ok. Can I drop a 4.0 into this truck. It is a 4x2 3.0 4dr. supercab. If I can, will I have to relocate the motor mounts? Will I have to change the tranny? If not, is there some parts I can replace on the tranny to make it work? Thanks.

The 3.0 trans will not bolt to any other engine. I'm not familiar with the 3.0 so can't advise what else might need changing. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Thanks, got up with a guy last night who is a tranny specialist. He said no go. He said the tranny would be the least of my problems. Said I would have to change motor mounts, brain, and wiring harness as well. His advise was fix mine, or get another truck unless I just dropped a carbureted 302 in it. Will just tear mine down, and see about fixing it. If it is non fixable, then I'll try to find a good 3.0 locally.
