1999 Ford Ranger Solid Axle Swap

I don't see any flipped springs, just compressed, and i see how he got lift, slid the stock bracket down on the frame....any plans of fixing that?

Looks like he just used a front hanger for the rear and then dropped it. I never thought of doing that for a temporary lift. :icon_confused:
Doesn't look to sturdy

BTW, can I get some more info on what you did with your rear springs? I want to flip mine, but dont want the "Cali" look going on. How did you flip it and still get it to ride pretty level?

well its just 4 front spring hangers so the shackles go down instead of up.

and it doesnt ride level, it pisses me off cause i looks like its squattn

you got it, and its not too beefy at all youre right about that too. im gonna have to box the frame and basically just add a lot more steel to the whole truck

I just read the whole post, and i wanted to mention something. If your driveshaft ever fails instead of passing out booquoo bux for a new one, just get some 2 inch solid stock like you did for your hitch and make a 2 piece driveshaft. The t case connection on the larger piece and the Ujoint for the front diff on the smaller one, slide on inside the other and mount it up. The front shaft will most likely never be used fast enough to need balancing, and it will be strong enough to hold up to most abuse, given the welding is done right on the ends. I have a guy here in TN did it to his yoda on 37's and he says its an awesome setup. Cheap and durable.

if i ever need to do another one in the future ill do that im sure, but at the moment im not 100% satisfied with all my welds and i didnt wanna **** it up

Looking great! I just bought a dana 44 today for my 99 and look forward to doing the swap! I am planning on narrowing it though and running maybe 35s or 36s. :headbang: You just gave me some extra motivation! :yahoo:

all in all it was a great time! i just moved into a new house so i have to get the garage cleaded out before i can do anything this weekend. but i got some steel cut out yesterday so ill get that on there and im gonna add a leaf too.

Ruff Country makes some crappy products IMO.

What the hell is that??

Do a search.... Wahlstrom1 has a thread on this site with all his prices laid out. There is a guy doing a budget SAS build and has all his prices laid out. USE THE SEARCH

btw, bozne, what happened to ya??

That's a good question, he's been gone for a few months. Like to see how his truck is doing now.
