1999 4x4 ranger lift higher than 4 inches?

well a buddy of mine has a 78 bronco layin in his field could i rig the rear end and front end up in my ranger without to many problems? im very new with these axle swaps so just trying to figure out what works for my driving and what everything does

The 78 is full width, but will work, you will just have to shorten the passenger side the EB's that had the narrow 44 was 71-77, 76-77 were disc brakes...

you need to really research and not just jump into this. It isn't like you can just get the axle and bolt it up

ok well this would be a project for the summer do you know of any sites i would be able to read on to learn on these swaps i only seem to find a couple

What is so difficult about it?? The parts you need, pre 98 ranger gearbox, EB coil bucket brackets, shock tower brackets, tracbar bracket, Radius arm brackets, tracbar, coil springs, axle and radius arms...jack up the front, unbolt every bracket from the frame that the suspension bolts to (some will have rivets you will need to grind off), leave the engine x-member, remove the rack and pinion steering, position the axle under the truck, attach RA brackets, line up the coil buckets and attach, attach shock tower brackets, line up and bolt up the gearbox, line up and attach the tracbar mount....Here is a thread that a member started on an explorer, but has the same suspension you have, and you get an idea of what you need to do, his computer crashed and has not got any updates, but it shows the whole teardown and I think shows the attachments of the coil buckets... http://therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57719&page=2
