Can someone please point me to an electrical schematic showing the wiring inside the driver's side door for a 1998 Ford Ranger?
Thank you.
[I apologize; I've apparently posted in the wrong thread, having wandered through several forums and gotten lost. Admins please delete or transfer at your pleasure.]

Moved it for you...

I don't have schematics for that one.

What is it that you're trying to fix in that door?

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for moving the post.
I'm trying to see how the "door disarm switch" is wired.
The alarm has started going off for no apparent reason, but
unlocking the door with the key turns it off.
Neither the Chilton nor the Haynes manual shows that detail.
I did find a drawing of the switch in the Chilton manual with
instructions about how to remove it, and Rock Auto carries
a replacement part. [EDIT: my mistake; Rock Auto had
the anti-theft relay, but not the door disarm switch.]
I'm thinking "the place to disable the alarm permanently" is
at that switch. The truck is a rust bucket and nobody's idea
of a "great ride to steal" and the alarm is embarrassing us
with the neighbors.

I'll put it in here that my theory is that the "door disarm switch" is connected to an input of the Passive Anti-theft System (PATS) module and "signals" it by "pulling the line high or low" (setting it to 12V or 0V).
I'm a little puzzled that the picture of the switch shows 3 wires where I'd expect only two for a simple switch. It's possible that it's a SPTT switch (single-pole, triple-throw) switch (one circuit but active in three positions). The first position, door-locked, arms the PATS, and the second, door-unlocked, disarms it. A third position, key-in-lock would be unconnected.
I want the switch to signal "door-unlocked" permanently.
If anybody's done this, please help.
