Ok, so my die hard chevy fan wheelin buddy is sick of snaping half shafts and we are now in the process of puting a real axle in it. So far we have a 9" rear and D44 steering axle. He wants to try somthing different so the plan is to keep it coil sprung and re use the radius arms.. Anyways, the axles have 3.50:1 gears in them. The truck currently has 3.73:1 gears and is runing 33" tires. He will be runing with the 3.50 gears for a while and Im wondering if the change in ratio will affect anything other then the spedo?

The VSS that is located in the tailshaft of the transfer case also feeds both the speedometer and the ECU. Without recalibration, the truck may have some shifting issues (changed shift points, hanging between gears).

Coil springs and radius arms aren't that much different. :thefinger:

bingo, I knew I overlooked somthing. And well, It will different in this area considering everyone runs leaf springs.
