1998 bumper on 04

I have a 2004 with a damaged bumper from an accident. I found someone with a 1998 bumper in good shape with brackets (not seen in person yet). I want to know if the bumper will bolt right up to my 04. The bumper is off of the narrower step side bed (I think it is called). Not sure if bumpers are the same for the standard bed. Thanks for any insight.

Rear bumper for a step side is narrower than a regular bed rear bumper.

A step side rear bumper will not fit on a regular bed, but a regular bed bumper will bolt up to a step side bed truck but will look weird.

Beyond those differences, a step side to a step side or regular bed to regular bed bumpers are the same from 1993 to 2012.

Thanks AJ, I'll just use my old bumper. It is bent a little on the outer thinner part. Too bad the other one won't fit because the guy only wanted $40 for it and was rust free.
