1998 2.5L 6MM vs 8MM Thermo Bolts

My 1998 Ranger 2.5L has 265k miles and has been getting intermittent cold start Mis-Fire on #2. The truck itself is in excellent condition, so I am considering a reman engine. However, researching a replacement, I am finding here are two different versions of this motor: 6MM and 8MM Thermostat bolts (I believe it's the thermostat housing bolts they're referring to). And

Anyway, can anyone out there clarify what this difference is?
