Fresh long block and new cam synchronizer question.
I have read the Haynes manual. I have seen posts. I’m still confused.
Camshaft Position Synchronizer at Installation the synchronizer engages oil pump intermediate shaft and synchronizer drive gear to camshaft at 60 degrees. Verified with alignment tool. As expected installation and engagement completed the synchronizer rotates clockwise. Fully seated the synchronizer rotates with alignment tool arrow pointing aft and just a bit counter clockwise from engine centerline.
I have Haynes manual implying oil intermediate shaft and drive gear engages and final installation the sensor connector is pointing 60 degrees counter clockwise from engine centerline.
Which is correct ? Insert synchronizer with initial engagement at 60 degrees giving sensor connector position just counter clockwise of centerline?
Or does initial engagement of synchronizer need to result in the sensor connector being 60 degrees counter clockwise from engine centerline?
