Can someone with a 4r44e transmission, preferably a 1996 2.3l ranger please measure the length of their Transmission dipstick end to end and specify exactly how you measured it so I can do the same to mine and compare??

I just replaced my transmission, 9ish quarts later it shows WAY overfilled. It runs great, shifts great. I bought this truck and have found many mistakes in the mechanic work, I’m wondering if my dipstick length is off.

Are you checking it while running, warmed up, in park?

If you just look at the dipstick with the engine off it will read overfilled...

Engine warmed up, running and both in park and in neutral it looks like this.

Was the replacement transmission used, torque converter drained?

Rebuilt trans and new torque converter.
I’m interested in knowing the length of that also. Anybody got a length on the dipstick? thanks
