As said 1994 Ranger

The wiper arms are connected to the motor's arms under the cowl with a ball and socket setup
Metal ball but a plastic/metal socket(bushing)

Socket is worn out so ball can pop out, and on drivers side of course, lol

1995 and up is different
Not sure how far back is the same

Anyone found a replacement part that fits this setup?

I see Dorman has a few "universal" sets with several sockets
Has anyone tried these?

What's the diameter of the ball stud?
I have seen earlier model Rangers with both 7/16" and 9/16" ball studs, though the charts show the 9/16" only from '97.
I have assumed that the smaller studs were for the earlier model Ranger/B2's, and the larger were for the later models.
The model #s I found for each were 49445 & 49456. I would guess and say 49456 (9/16" ball stud). And of course, these were the most expensive at around $10 each.
Here's a comparison.

Thanks, I will need to measure socket opening next time wiper ball pops out
