1994 Ranger - starting small

Huh, I'll have to take a look at it.

Update on the truck: funny rattling noise coming from the driver's side back end (that's the crooked side). I'm hoping everything is still attached. My weekend starts tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to recruit a friend to help me pull the bed to get a clear look at what's under there.

About halfway through the first bolt in the bed of my truck, I hear, "Can you take this couch to the dump for me?"

Nice, having lots of issues with the bolts coming out? I did destroyed two torx sockets. So I took the angle grinder to'em cut'em off under the fram and replaced with some grad 8 bolts.

It definitely wasn't easy going. I think I'm going to keep the bedliner out (I have one of the plastic Ford inserts), and spray all six down liberally with PB blaster about two days before I actually plan on taking the bed off. I'm coming up on almost a week straight of PTO, so hopefully I'll be able to make some decent headway.

Possible paint job for my truck? Unfortunately in the far future.

Nice are you just going to leave it blue, then put black stipes or different colors? Looks like you got som talent in drawing I'm ok too. I used to draw pretty good but I cut back after high school due to life. I wanted to go to school for it but with not so good grades my junior year I wasn't able to take college art classes my senior year. So I figured whats the point. Sorry for the sob story.....

I used to draw a lot in high school, but I just traced an old picture of my truck in sharpie, flipped it so that it was the drivers side, and traced it in pencil on another sheet of paper. Fast, accurate(ish) drawing. :)

Raining this weekend. Also suffering from a lack of motivation.

Staring down the nose of a ball joint/u joint repair... My wallet looks a little thin for this.

Still to do:

Frame clean up (Maybe it's time to move away from all this rain!)
Front shocks/Coil springs
Sound system
Oil leak

Couple things bugging me (at last!) that have been going on with my truck for awhile.

The ABS light has been on since I bought it

It's sucking up coolant like it's starving, but it runs at a normal temp and doesn't leak

It makes popping noises as it accelerates. It almost sounds like air bubbles in the gas (which is just a BS theory on my part)

It's been doing all three of those since I bought it early last year. Any ideas?

Well the ABS light could be a bad wire or connector check the connectors on the wheels and fallow the wires to see if any are corroded or cut. Also check your fluid level. As for the coolant problem my wifes old car was going through fluid really bad but it had a pin hole leak in the thermostat housing. I couldn't find the leak but I could smell the antifreeze, until I had a garage pressurize the system till it started to leak. Maybe you could have that done?

Truck is looking good. Can't wait to see it finished!:icon_thumby:

Hopefully it'll stay sunny today (I get off work in a couple hours), so I'll be able to get under the truck without getting drenched. Gonna bite the bullet today and order some u-joints (probably from ford), and the ball joints and radius arm bushings from Moog.

Had a scare tonight, and it turned into mild productivity.

Before! (Ish. I started and then realized I needed a before picture)

I also bought u-joints the other day. Nothing special, just picked em up from Napa. Haven't quite gotten to Moog yet.

I do! I think I'm gonna go with black and grey for the body, and blue for the chassis, I like the contrast. I'm thinking of working on the back axle a little bit this week. I'm working pretty much all week, but I like the idea of little projects to keep me sane.

The scare was nothing major. A friend of mine checked in at a local restaurant on Facebook with my ex, who moved back to Texas. It was not an amicable break up and I don't want to see him. The town I live in is too small to avoid him, and the FD likes to welcome back it's own. I wasn't really prepared to deal with him and it set me on edge.

Good news is, it was a typo, and he's not in town.

Oh thats cool then. I hate seeing ex's I passed mine in walmart the other day havn't seen her in years I came around the corner and bam there she was she almost switched over an aisle to avoid me but then just went ahead and passed me in the same aisle. We just noded and moved on. It's alittle awkward for sure. An I like the colors too it'll look good.
