can anybody tell me when ford transitioned to 1995 production? My 1994 Ranger was built on December 8, 1994 at Twin Cities. I am used to ford production transitioning during the late summer-early fall months.

94/95 was a "facelift" year... the 94 has a single din radio (but is still 3rd gen) and the 95 has a double din radio (but is still 3rd gen).. they changed the interior a bunch more than just the radio. My bet, they ran all the parts they had on hand and made every last truck they could of out of the parts sitting at the factory rather than send em to the warranty/repair warehouse so whatever day they ran out of parts would be the day - which is a lot harder to catch than the typical "new model year in april" as it is now.

If you think trying to figure out the last day of production is hard for this year try the old old classic where production was not centralized... up till 1999 ALL ford rangers were built at the Kentucky Truck Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky. So if you really really want to know the date you could call up ford or go to wherever the plant records from KY ended up and ask for the info...

And then there is the issue of "when" they usually changed from running this year's stickers to next years... back in the old old classics it was Dec 31st and everyone did that, then progressively the sticker date has gotten moved back and back and back.

My gal bought her brand new 2006 Honda Civic in May of 2005, that's a whole lot further back in the calendar than Sept.

Back in the early 90's I am pretty sure most auto mfg. changed stickers (for models with no differences) on the 1st day of the 4th financial quarter. So that varied with what day the company called the end of their fiscal year. Ford currently (per the Wall Street Journal) has their fiscal year ending Dec 31. (Source: https://www.wsj.com/market-data/quotes/F/financials) I am fairly sure Ford has never changed their financial year.

Interesting article here (on TRS) about the last ranger when Ford killed off the USA ranger in 2012:
