But why was the engine changed with less than 98k on the truck?

Raises questions to me about how well it was taken care of.

Something's odd about this truck. It has a '95 and later dash, but the VIN has a tenth digit "R", agreeing with it being a 1994 model as described. I'm not aware of any 1994s having that dash style from the factory.

the wheels too, it has the “snap on” centers , ‘94 stock alloy wheels would of still used the 3 stainless screws per wheel to fasten the plastic center to the rim. Steering wheel doesnt look correct either, looks like a airbag steering wheel, a ‘94 wouldnt have that either.

I just don't know about this one. The listed VIN doesn't jive with what's pictured. The seller has "0" feedback and joined eBay two weeks ago.

While it is possible to rebuild a '94 with later year parts, it would be a real pain to do it right. Besides the later airbag dash, you're dealing with OBDI to OBD2, and going to a GEM- a lot wiring harness changes involved.

The right front pic in the ad does show the front clip being a different shade as the cab and bed, so it has had a partial repaint somewhere along the way.

in the description it says “splash”. was the splash ever offered in a supercab? plus, a splash had specific splash rims (steel, may of been chrome skins, but steel) No chrome, and I see no “splash” decal on truck in the ad. I may send ebay a link to this thread.

I did send a link to this thread to ebay, I noticed its gone from my “veiwed items”. perhaps it was a scam, they were asking $1,000 up front for a truck that clearly wasnt the year advertised. I never did research the vin in the ad, when I first saw the ad for mine the year was wrong on it, but mistakes do sometimes happen. was a lot that didnt add up besides a model year in the title though.

Could have been a scam, but some people are also just really stupid? The seller could have just been incredibly stupid?
